From the Mom

Rebecca has been slammed since school started 3 weeks ago. Trying to find time to fit everything in is become a very hard task to fulfil. She spent a great amount of time at the end of the summer playing Webkinz while chatting with Christine on the phone. Now it's a twice a week thing for 10 minutes at a time. She is busy with school, taking 2 gymnastics classes, a sign language class, soccer and an open gym at gymnastics twice a month. She been trying to learn to ride her bike but it isn't coming easy. We have about as much as I can handle on our plate right now. Just thinking of AWANA getting ready to start makes my head spin.

This week, in science, the girls learned about light. It was a bit over Emily's head but she listened quite nicely. Rebecca, on the other hand, is constantly classifying objects as transparent, translucent or opaque. At least she learned something from it!

I love it when we have the opportunity to add an extra wallop to their learning. We went ahead and got a yearly pass to the Science Museum since it was at a very discounted price the month of August. Knowing they had a large exhibit on light, we took the girls there on Saturday. Making it extra fun, we had their friend, Christine, come along. It was all new to her and seeing her flit from one thing to another with bright eyes was a highlight of the day. We planned on going Friday afternoon but didn't finish school early enough, I decided to have us go on Sat. so Jay could go too. With him always working, he doesn't get to experience all of the fun things we get to do.

I took plenty of pictures so enjoy!!!
